Within days of his birth Matt was on the road as the family travelled all over Australia following his father as he raced both Sprintcars and NASCARs. From a very early age Matt’s passion was for motocross.
A gifted sportsperson from a young age, Matt enjoyed playing baseball and racing karts and riding motorbikes. Matt started racing go karts at the age of 7, winning the NSW State Title. Growing up Matt’s favorite drivers at a young age was his dad and Craig Dollansky hence his race number 57.
In 2006, Matt scored victory in the Junior National Association of Speedway Racing (NASR) Australian Title, writing his name into the record book after passing the age of requirement by 24 hours. In 2009, Matt decided to trade in four wheels for two and began racing motocross, winning many A grade races. His achievements have been remarkable including representing Australia at the AMA Motocross Millville Nationals, USA in 2010 where he finished 2nd.
In 2013, Matt decided to follow his dad's footsteps into Sprintcars, where he continues to race to this day. Matt has won multiple features at his home track, Valvoline Raceway, including the 60th New South Wales Sprintcar Title.
